This weekend in Wuxi - BBQ and Yao |
 BCM Bar is having is first weekly BBQ this saturday starting 17.30 till late. It will feature a live jazz band and an open mic. So if you want to play then bring your guitar. So get on down and eat some meat and enjoy some music on their excellent patio.
The Chinese basketball team will be in Wuxi this weekend playing the Australian team. No Yao Ming though, but the rest will be there. Do not ask us where to get ticket because we tried without any luck.
The big softball tournament is on this weekend at the baseball stadium in the new district. There will be games all weekend, so come on out.

Ronnies Australian Bar is moving - Rock and roll this weekend |
 After 7 years in Wuxi Ronnie is moving is popular expat bar to another location on Yongle Lu near the Virus Pub. The old place is part of a grand new highrise - surprise surprise - and will therefore undergo a lot of construction and redevelopment.
The new place should be ready around the end of August and while we wait for that the pool table etc. will be found in a temperary pub location at Bolters.
That is all next week, what we have to focus on now is this week. On friday the rock and roll will be on for the last time and on saturday is the last evening ever at the current location. Ronnie promises a good sendoff with some free beer and food during saturday evening.

Softball Tournament in July 5th and 6th |
The guys from the Wuxi Baseball Stadium will host a softball tournament on July 5th and 6th. It will feature 3 teams from Shanghai, 1 from Suzhou and 4 teams from Wuxi.
The team assembled via Wuxilife still has a core of players, but a few people are gone for summer vacation so we need more. The weekend will feature atleast 4 games - 3 on saturday and 1 plus maybe more on sunday. Price per player will be 200 RMB. We will start out playing Saturday morning with 2 games and we then have a game in the evening also (with all the lights on)
The rules will be slow pitch sofball rules - no sliding or stealing. So it is a hit and field game.
You do not have to be a retired major leaguer, but we like it best if you have played the game before and if you know how to drink beer.
